In partnership with
North Central Michigan College and The Highlands at Harbor Springs have partnered to bring Ski & Snowboard Instruction to Northern Michigan. The training is aligned with the Level 1 curriculum and standards established by the Professional Ski Instructors of America (PSIA) and the American Association of Snowboard Instructors (AASI).
This three-part Snowsports Professional Development Seminar will take place at North Central Michigan College's Petoskey campus and gives participants an inside look at what it takes to work as a ski and snowboard instructor. The series will cover the pathway to PSIA membership and certification, along with introductory instructor training and Level I certification prep, using the PSIA-AASI Learning Connection framework as its foundation.
The following three core skill areas every successful instructor needs to teach effective lessons will be covered.
Participants who successfully complete all three sessions will receive a certificate of completion from North Central Michigan College. PSIA-AASI Level I certification is not earned until participants complete and pass the final technical assessment directly through PSIA-AASI.

Instructor: Logan Price has worked at the Highlands in Harbor Springs, Michigan since 2012, and has served as the resort's Director of Snowsports since 2022. With a career in the ski industry dating back to 2003, Logan brings over two decades of hands-on experience in snowsports instruction and program leadership. A member of the Professional Ski Instructors of America (PSIA), Logan holds an Alpine Level III certification and a Children's Specialist credential, reflecting his expertise across both advanced skiing technique and youth instruction. He currently serves as an Education Staff member for PSIA Central Region, where he helps train and develop the next generation of ski instructors throughout the region.
