Join in this 4-week noon-time series to learn the when's, why's and how's of personal finance so that you can take control of your financial wellbeing.

Week 1: Financial Foundation: A guide to managing your money

This introduction to financial basics will discuss the importance of goal setting and financial planning; touch on the basics of budgeting, managing debt and credit, investing and saving; and talk about establishing good habits for the future. You will also have a chance to ask your own personal questions. 

Week 2: Investing 101: Investing through Volatile Markets

You’ve probably heard of investing in “the market” but do you really know what a stock or a bond even is? There’s a lot of jargon in the financial world that can be confusing, not to mention all the news headlines trying to scare you. Austin will help you break through all this noise in the Bonds vs Stocks class. You’ll walk away understanding exactly what a bond or a stock is so that you can know how to put your money to work for you! In this class you’ll learn the different categories of these two investment types and how they are generally used in combination in an investment strategy. You’ll also have a chance to ask your own questions. 

Week 3: Investing 102: Investing through Volatile Markets

Markets go up and down all the time. But volatility doesn’t just refer to market losses; periods of big gains can be part of that fluctuation too. In this class you’ll learn about the factors that contribute to market volatility, how it behaves, and strategies you can follow to help you more confidently navigate through periods of volatility in your investing journey. 

Week 4: Overview of Financial Planning

The Personal Finance series will wrap up with a high‑level look at the core parts of a well‑rounded financial plan, including managing risk, investing, tax planning, and preparing for retirement. We’ll discuss how these areas fit together and why having a coordinated approach can make a meaningful difference over time.
