Fentanyl has taken over from heroin as the leading cause of overdose deaths in our country. David McGreaham, MD, will explain how we got into this mess, where we are now with prevention and treatment options, and what we need to do to prevent further loss of life. Dr McGreaham was formerly the chief medical officer for Munson Medical Center and now is the contracted medical director for the Northern Michigan Opioid Response Consortium, which covers 25 counties. He will be joined by several local leaders in the field of addiction/substance use disorder who will be available to share their insights and answer questions.
