Serena Lake of the Little Traverse Bay Bands of Odawa Indians will give an overview of the Tribe’s Great Lakes Fisheries Program to preserve and wisely use the native fish populations of northern Lakes Michigan and Huron. The program focuses primarily on Little Traverse Bay and Sturgeon Bay, as well as some Lake Huron tributaries. Work includes studying early life-history traits of lake whitefish, collecting and rearing whitefish and lake sturgeon gametes at the tribe’s own hatcheries for stocking out, and conducting walleye and lake trout status surveys.

Cancellations are non-refundable within 48 hours of this event.
