Celebrating Little Traverse Historical Museum

In celebration of International Museum Day and its theme for 2024 - “Education and Research", join Executive Director Jane Garver on an exclusive behind-the-scenes tour of the Little Traverse History Museum located on the beautiful Petoskey waterfront. Visitors will get a guided tour of the museum's current exhibits, including "Young Hemingway", "A Century of Fashion", and "Petoskey Firsts". They will also get a sneak peek at the installation of a new exhibit, "From Bear River to Petoskey", featuring the historical society's newest acquisition, the original carving of the Chief Petoskey statue. Garver will explain the research process used to create the exhibit and the archives and research library will be opened for guests to explore.

The Little Traverse History Museum  is housed in the former Pere Marquette train station, built in 1892. The building fell into disrepair after the last trains arrived in the 1960s. It was eventually taken over by the Little Traverse Historical Society and became a showpiece museum in 1974.

Refunds are unavailable for cancellations within 48 hours of the tour.
