Dr. Natasha Bagdasarian, MD, MPH, FISDA, is Michigan’s chief medical executive, providing overall medical guidance for the State of Michigan. She will give an overview of pressing public health issues in our state: the COVID-19 pandemic, the opioid crisis, maternal and infant health, and vaccines for preventable diseases and sexually transmitted infections. Prior to her current post Dr. Bagdasarian oversaw the SARS-CoV-2 testing strategy for the State and helped bring rapid testing technologies to vulnerable populations. Since early 2020 she has served as a consultant and technical advisor for the World Health Organization, providing guidance on outbreak preparedness and COVID-19 strategies. Her appearance is underwritten in part by Friends of HDNW, a non-profit organization supporting the mission of the Health Department of Northwest Michigan.
