Voters may think that the big election will be in November 2024, but the real action for important elective offices in our area will be in April. That’s the deadline for candidates to get their names on the August primary ballot where many races will be decided. This is a big year: candidates for city, township, county, legislative, university, and federal elective offices will all appear on long ballots. Many will run unopposed. Charlie MacInnis successfully stood for elective office 10 times in Emmet and Jackson counties. He and Emmet County Clerk Suzanne Kanine will provide an overview of the election year ahead. They will also explain how to get your name on the next ballot – but you will have to act soon!
Your fee includes a buffet lunch beginning at 11:30 am, lecture begins at noon.
Note: At this time, masks are optional inside NCMC facilities.
Cancellations are non-refundable within 48 hours of this event.
